North Korea, Japan, Vietnam and India are also distributed. Its wood is ring-porous, used for sleepers, pits, bridges, floors, etc.; the leaf contains protein, on which tussah silkworms feed; the seed contains starch, which can be used as feed and industrial starch; the shell and bark can be used to extract tannin extract.
